My current training:
I am running Jim Wendler’s 5/3/1 routine for the entirety of 2017. I have not made the strength gains I should have over the past couple years so my number one focus for this year is strength.
My routine for the past month consisted of the following:
Monday – OH Press (5/3/1 programming), Neutral bench press, Pull-ups, Inverted row, Curls, Tricep pushdowns
Tuesday – Deadlift (5/3/1 programming), Front squat, high rep band good mornings, ab wheel
Thursday – Bench (5/3/1 programming), incline bench, lat pulldowns, inverted row, curls, tricep pushdowns
Saturday – Squat (5/3/1 programming), RDL, high rep band good mornings, ab wheel
I do not plan on making any adjustments next month other than increasing the load. I am planning on running this exact set up for at least 2 months. It has a hypertrophy focus along with the strength gains. In the future I will switch my high rep work like pull ups with a weighted version.
So far I feel stronger and blasted through my preset percentages for month one. The key to this program is to stay patient and make slow but steady gains.
