Figuring out your goals and how to accomplish them seem like the hardest part of any solid workout program. So much time and effort is put into the process and you’re probably feeling pretty good about all of the work you just did.
But when should you start your new program or when is the optimal time to start working out and getting in shape……..NOW!
Stop with all of the “I’ll start tomorrow” or OCD I need to start fresh on a Monday excuses. Stop being afraid to challenge yourself. Take control of your life and do the work that needs to be done NOW.
There has never been a better time to start anything than NOW. This goes beyond fitness and health. Want to improve your relationships? Start NOW. Want to create something? Start NOW. It doesn’t matter what it is, start NOW.
You may not have complete control over all of the events in your life but you have 100% control over your motivations and how you react to any event. The parable of the Two Wolves sums this idea up pretty well:
A grandfather is talking with his grandson and he says there are two wolves inside of us which are always at war with each other.
One of them is a good wolf which represents things like kindness, bravery and love. The other is a bad wolf, which represents things like greed, hatred and fear.
The grandson stops and thinks about it for a second then he looks up at his grandfather and says, “Grandfather, which one wins?”
The grandfather quietly replies, the one you feed.
Start feeding the good wolf, the wolf that you want to become. The bad wolf is always going to pull you in the opposite direction. Before you even begin to look to others for help, before you start creating “haters” focus on defeating the “hater” within you.
